Read left to right, top to bottom

"My name is David Collins. In the Present Time, Collinwood faces a new threat. For Maggie Evans has been bitten by a vampire again..."
"(Hallie) Again?"
"(David) Yeah, she goes in for this every couple of years or so."
"(Hallie) What for?"
"(David) I dunno. I guess it's like acupuncture, only better."

"(David) Julia and Barnabas are in a lather over who this vampire may be..."
"(Hallie) ...And whether Barnabas will be blamed."
"(David) On this night, Maggie feels that late-night summons, and Julia lets her answer it, hoping to follow behind and learn the vampire's identity."
"(Hallie) Shh! Not so loud, she's coming this way."

(Julia comes out of Maggie's room)
"(Julia) (to herself) My name is Julia Collins. Maggie is being being summoned, so I'll let her go and follow behind, hoping to learn the vampire's identity."
"(David) Hey, I already did today's narration!"
"(Julia) Oh! Sorry."

(Julia whips out her cross)
"(Julia) Shhh! Be vewy, vewy quiet. I'm huntin' vampires."

(Moments later, Maggie is wandering through the woods)
"(Maggie) Blood! Blood! Fresh warm blood! Get it here!"

"(Bob Lloyd) Elsewhere in the woods, a pair of legs wearing support hose is wandering."
"(Ken McEwen) Hi, Julia."
"(Julia) D'oh!"

(At the first place in the woods, Maggie is still wandering)
"(Maggie) Blood! Blood! Fresh warm blood! Get it here!"
(a vampire bat lands on her shoulder)
"(Maggie) Not you!"

"(Julia) Come on, Maggie! Slow down! My legs are already two panels behind the rest of me!"

(At Collinwood, Hallie is reading)
"(Hallie) People born under the sign of Scorpio share a sign with Famous Female Scientist Madame Curie, Famous Female News Anchor Megyn Kelly, and Famous Female Impersonator Bruce Jenner. Such people also share a sign with actress Kathleen Cody... I wonder who she is?"

(David enters)
"(David) Where have you been? I've been looking all over for you."
"(Hallie) What for?"
"(David) I saw Carrie. She said she's going to spill the beans!"
"(Hallie) Well, get Mrs. Johnson to clean it up, I'm busy."
"(David) D'oh!"

"(David) No, I mean..."
"(Hallie) David, wait till you hear this!"
"(David) Hear what?"
"(Hallie) What I just read in Mrs. Stoddard's horoscope for today."
"(David) Hey, you shouldn't be looking at that. It's rude to read other people's horoscopes!"
"(Hallie) That's not horoscopes, it's diaries."
"(David) Are you sure?"
"(Hallie) Definitely!"
"(David) Hmmm, I may have something to apologize to you for later."
"(Hallie) D'oh!"

"(David) What does Aunt Liz's say? Something about us?"
"(Hallie) Maybe. It says "Loved Ones will finally reach their home"."
"(David) That can't be us. Maybe it means Father is coming back from Europe."
"(Hallie) Your father is Roger Collins?"
"(David) That's right."
"(Hallie) The one whose face graces your Aunt Elizabeth's dartboard?"
"(David) Okay, I guess it's not him..."

"(Hallie) The last cryptic entry was about us. Remember? It said "Loved Ones will meet a stranger", and we met Gerard."
"(David) Yeah, but what could it mean "find their home"? We're already home."
"(Hallie) I'm not. This isn't my home. I'm a visitor."
"(David) Yeah, so's Dr. Hoffman. For the last three years."
"(Hallie) I'm still a houseguest under The Kato Rule!"
"(David) Kato?"
"(Hallie) Kato Kaelin. Under The Kato Rule, you're still a houseguest until you've stayed three months, or witnessed two murders, whichever comes first."

"(David) Okay, then let's say this isn't your home. But what about me? The Horoscope can't refer to me finding my home, because I already live here."
"(Hallie) Yeah, but you may need to find a new one soon if your Aunt Elizabeth finds out what you did to her tulips."
"(David) Shhh! Not so loud! She thinks the dog did that!"

"(David) Anyway, we'll soon find out what it all means."
"(Hallie) How?"
"(David) Carrie promised to tell what was going to happen to us."
"(Hallie) She told you that?"
"(David) Yes... Well, I mean she nodded her head when I asked if she would. That's why I was looking for you, so she could tell us both."
"(Hallie) Um... Yeah. Sure."
"(David) Don't you want to know?"
"(Hallie) What's the rush? Maybe I'm afraid to know!"
"(David) All right, I'll just tell Gerard you wouldn't come."
"(Hallie) Wait! I'm afraid of that too!"
"(David) D'oh!"

"(David) What are you afraid of less? Going or not going?"
"(Hallie) Not going."
(David leads her upstairs)
"(Hallie) On second thought, Going! If I go, Carrie and I will be in the same room together. Do you know how much that Split Screen effect costs?"
"(David) But you agreed Gerard would be mad at you if you didn't go."
"(Hallie) But Mr. Curtis will be mad at me if I DO!"

(Meanwhile in the woods, Julia gets hit in the face with a frond for the 10th time)
"(Julia) It's no good, I've lost her. Ooooh, why didn't I just put an ankle tracker on her when I had the chance??"

(Barnabas approaches)
"(Julia) Ack! Murder!"
"(Barnabas) Julia, it's only me!"
"(Julia) Oh Barnabas, thank goodness! For a moment I was afraid it was a vampire... Er, well, you know what I mean."

"(Barnabas) What are you doing out here? You were watching Maggie."
"(Julia) Well, the vampire summoned her, so I thought I'd let her go and try to follow her."
"(Barnabas) Through the woods at night? Have you learned anything out here?"
"(Julia) Yes. David doesn't curb his dog."
"(Barnabas) What about Maggie?"
"(Julia) I don't think he curbs her, either."

"(Barnabas) Where is Maggie?"
"(Julia) I don't know, I lost her among the fronds."
"(Barnabas) I'll find her. You go back to the house."
"(Julia) I'll be safe. I have a cross, see?"
"(Barnabas) Argh!! Quit DOING that, Julia!"
"(Julia) I'm sorry."
"(Barnabas) And crosses can be gotten rid of. Will Loomis held me at crosspoint in Parallel Time, but the moment he dropped his guard, I was able to overpower him. Now, go home!"
"(Julia) All right, if you say so..."
"(Julia) Crosspoint!?"

(Back at Collinwood, Hallie and David are still talking)
"(David) Maybe what they're going to do to us won't be as bad as we think, and we're worried about nothing."
"(Hallie) Do you really think so?"
"(David) No, but if I pretend to believe it, maybe it will keep you from panicking."
"(Hallie) Thanks a lot!"
"(David) Oh, wait. I wasn't supposed to say that out loud, was I?"

"(Hallie) You're not fooling anybody. You're as scared as I am, you're just not as expressive."
"(Ghostly Voice) David!... Hallie!"
"(Hallie) Who said that?"
"(David) It sounds like you."
"(Ghostly Voice) Where are you, David? We're ready for you now."
"(Hallie) It's Carrie!"
"(Ghostly Voice) Come to the Playroom! Come to the Playroom!"
"(Hallie) We'd better do as she says."
"(David) All right, but if I find out you're a ventriloquist, your Easy-Bake Oven is going in the septic tank!"

(Before they can leave, Julia enters the house, grouchily)
"(Julia) What are you two kids doing up? Shouldn't you be in bed?"
"(Hallie and David in Chorus) We couldn't sleep!
"(Julia) What's with the stereo, anyway?? What are you two? The Doublemint Twins?"

"(Hallie) We were in bed, but those dogs howling."
"(David) They woke us up."
"(Julia) Is that any reason to get dressed again? Have a brandy and go back to bed."
"(Hallie) A brandy!?"
"(Julia) Sorry, that's for Quentin. I meant warm milk."

(Julia enters the Drawing Room and looks out the Seaward Window)
"(Julia) Well, what do you know? That donkey is actually flying!... Maybe this is the day Barnabas will ask me out!"

(Out in the woods, Barnabas finds Maggie, with that Quart-Low feeling)
"(Barnabas) This is the final straw. I cannot abide vampires who leave their empties lying around!"

(Barnabas takes Maggie back to Collinwood)
"(Julia) Oh Barnabas, thank God! How did you find her?"
"(Barnabas) I just followed my nose."
"(Julia) Is she all right?"
"(Barnabas) Very weak. Help me get her upstairs."
"(Julia) Oh, this is all my fault for letting her go out.
"(Barnabas) I'll take this shoulder, you take that one."
"(Julia) I say, this is all my fault for letting her go out."
"(Barnabas) Yes, I know."
"(Julia) D'oh!"

(In the Playroom)
"(Hallie) Well, where is she?"
"(David) I don't know. She said she'd be here at exactly 10 o'clock."
"(Hallie) Well, maybe the supernatural is in a different time zone than ours."

"(Hallie) Gerard must have stopped her from coming."
"(David) How can a ghost stop a ghost?"
"(Hallie) I don't know. I don't live and breathe this stuff like the people around here."
"(David) Well, Carrie said she'd be here at 10 o'clock, that she'd answer all my questions, and tell us exactly what's going to happen to us."
"(Hallie) You're reading a whole lot into a nod of the head, aren't you?"
"(David) Well, it was the way she nodded it."

"(Hallie) Carrie looks so much like me, it's frightening. It's like having an identical cousin."
"(David) Don't you mean an identical sister?"
"(Hallie) No, I'm a Patty Duke fan."
(the carousel starts playing the Playroom Theme again)
"(David) Someone's here! Carrie? Is that you? Who's here??"
"(Hallie) Maybe the carousel just has a faulty switch."
"(David) Oh, shut up!"

(In Maggie's Room, Julia is examining Maggie with a troubled look)
"(Julia) Mmm... mmmm... Mmm Hmmm... Oh, dear. This isn't good."
"(Barnabas) Her condition?"
"(Julia) No, her Blue Cross only covers the first $300. It'll never be enough."

"(Barnabas) What about her condition?"
"(Julia) Well, she's lost a great deal of blood."
"(Barnabas) Obviously, but how is she doing?"
"(Julia) Not good. To have a hope of pulling through, she's got to have a transfusion."
"(Barnabas) Well, what's stopping you?"
"(Julia) I can't requisition that much blood without answering a lot of questions, Barnabas. Do you think you could possibly slip into the Blood Bank again, and rustle me up a couple of bottles of B Negative?"
"(Barnabas) Well, certainly. Anything for Maggie."
"(Julia) Oh, and Barnabas. Don't drink it all yourself this time."
"(Barnabas) D'oh!"

"(Barnabas) Just one question. What do we tell the family?"
"(Julia) I'll worry about that when I know if she's going to pull through at all."
"(Barnabas) What happens if she doesn't??"
"(Julia) Well, as you know, if Maggie dies from a vampire attack, she'll become a vampire herself. Just like you tried to do to her when you first came here, in fact."
"(Barnabas) Any chance she'll turn into Josette too?"
"(Julia) Barnabas!"

(Julia leaves, and Maggie is indeed looking pretty rumpled for Maggie)
"(Maggie) Ooooooh, the only way I'm going to get some color in my face is to stick my tongue out."

"(Barnabas) So... Maggie? I understand you took a vampire bite."
"(Maggie) Name, Rank and Serial Number, that's all I can tell you."
"(Barnabas) Was it anybody I know?"
"(Maggie) I don't know. Who's in your lodge?"

"(Maggie) What are you talking about? Vampire bite? I was attacked by an animal in the woods... or tripped while carrying a salad fork, or something like that."
"(Barnabas) Come on, you can tell me what happened."
"(Maggie) Afraid I can't."
"(Barnabas) Look into my eyes, Maggie."
"(Maggie) Forget it!"
"(Barnabas) (to himself) Hmmm, maybe if I bit her too, and ordered her to tell... No, Julia would never forgive me."

(Back in the Playroom, the Carousel is still playing)
"(David) I don't mind the waiting around, it's the Muzak I can't stand!"

"(Hallie) It's been an hour, David. Can we go now? I never thought waiting for a ghost could be so boring."
"(David) Just a little longer."
"(Hallie) Well, how long do you want to wait?"
"(David) (to the tune of the Playroom Theme) o/I... don't... know... but... le-et's keep-on try-ing.../o D'oh! That thing is driving me crazy! Let's smash it now!"
"(Hallie) We can't! Gerard would kill us!"
"(David) Right now that seems like a small price to pay!"

"(Hallie) David, LOOK!"
(the lights in Rose Cottage go on by themselves again)
"(Hallie) D-d-did you see that???"
"(David) Yeah, that stupid carousel has woken them up too. They'll be calling the cops any minute."

"(Hallie) David, don't go near that thing!"
"(David) Why not? It can't hurt me... Yaaah!!"
"(Hallie) What happened?"
"(David) I touched an exposed wire. I guess it can hurt me."
"(Hallie) But how did it come on like that? It's not plugged into anything."
"(David) I dunno. Maybe little chipmunks on a wheel in the basement makes the bulb come on."
"(Hallie) Oh David, don't make light of it."

(In Maggie's Room, a transfusion bottle has been set up)
"(Julia) Will you get away from that, Barnabas! That's for Maggie!"
"(Barnabas) Yes, but surely..."
"(Julia) No, I already told you, you can't lick the empties!"

(Julia takes Maggie's pulse)
"(Barnabas) Don't pronounce her dead again."
"(Julia) Don't worry, I wound my watch this time."
"(Barnabas) She mustn't leave the room again until we find out who has caused this. She can't withstand another attack."
"(Julia) Barnabas, I'm the doctor, and I'll make the medical judgments here."
"(Barnabas) Very well, what do you say?"
"(Julia) She can't withstand another attack."
"(Barnabas) Have it your way, then."

"(Julia) What I don't see is why you couldn't make Maggie talk."
"(Barnabas) I could if I'd bitten her too, but I didn't dare. As it is, I gave Maggie my hypnotic stare, and commanded her in a stern voice to tell me what happened, but she wouldn't."
"(Julia) In other words, your bark wasn't as strong as the other vampire's bite."
"(Barnabas) D'oh!"

"(Julia) Let's talk over here. She's asleep now, but she may overhear."
"(Barnabas) Good thinking."
"(Julia) The question now is what do we tell the family?"
"(Barnabas) What do you mean?"
"(Julia) Well, how do we explain Maggie being attacked, and drained of blood, and all the rest of it?"
"(Barnabas) Tell them we haven't got a clue what happened! We didn't do it, we're not the ones covering anything up this time."
"(Julia) You're right! Force of Habit, sorry."

"(Julia) But I've still got a bad feeling about this. Even if you didn't attack Maggie, there are similar attacks in the files of Police Squad, some of which you did cause."
"(Barnabas) We can speculate that an animal caused them."
"(Julia) That was our explanation for the others, too. It's starting to wear a bit thin that so many attacks should be caused over such a long period of time by an animal nobody ever sees."
"(Barnabas) Perhaps the Police won't become involved."
"(Julia) What if Elizabeth decides to call them?"
"(Barnabas) You're saying you want me to bite Elizabeth?"
"(Julia) You know, there's no sense even talking to you while I'm doing a transfusion."

"(Julia) I'm just troubled that this should happen now. Nobody in 1995 mentioned anything about a vampire being around in 1970."
"(Barnabas) I suppose it was successfully covered up. But if you'd like, I'll go tell Stokes about it now, so that he'll know to have told us about it in 1995. If you think it would help."
"(Julia) You'd better not. The Time Paradox might cause the universe to explode... Or my head, at least!"

"(Julia) Barnabas, you've always had the ability to summon those you control. Usually nubile young things in nighties that you summoned to the cemetery."
"(Barnabas) Let's not argue about my social life, Julia. Do you have a point to make?"
"(Julia) Well, is it possible that you could summon whoever is controlling Maggie?"
"(Barnabas) Unlikely, unless I controlled him. And even if I had controlled him once... say I had bitten him, and turned him into a vampire myself, then my control over him would vanish at the moment he joined the ranks of the Undead. We'd both be vampires, and of equal rank, as it were."
"(Julia) I see... Well, is there any chance that you could mentally contact him just by virtue of the mere fact that you're both vampires?"
"(Barnabas) What? Just because I'm a vampire, you think that means I have an "In" with every other Lon, Bela, Boris roaming around out there?" *
* Non-vampires would say Tom, Dick and Harry.

"(Julia) You're right, it probably wouldn't work."
"(Barnabas) I didn't say it wouldn't work, I just mean I've never tried it before. I'll give it a whirl now if you like"
(Barnabas goes to the window, and concentrates)
"(Julia) No, wait! If you summon the other vampire to us, then we'll be revealing to the other vampire that YOU'RE a vampire!"
"(Barnabas) But it could help Maggie."
"(Julia) Or you might reveal your own identity without learning the other vampire's!"
"(Barnabas) Look, it's ringing now. Do you want me to talk to him or not?"
"(Julia) Hang up! Hang up!!"

(Meanwhile in the Playroom)
"(Hallie) You know what, David? That carousel is starting to drive ME crazy now too!"
"(David) Would You Believe that Aunt Elizabeth says this is the kind of thing people actually played with before Nintendo?"

"(Hallie) Maybe if I leave the room, Carrie can appear without needing to use split screen."
"(David) Sit down. If I suffer, you suffer."
"(Hallie) But how long do we have to wait?"
"(David) Will you hold your horses? I gave you some suggestions to pass the time, didn't I?"
"(Hallie) I'm sorry, David, but I just don't think this is a very good place to play the Spot the Out-of-State License Plate Game!"

(Hallie suddenly hyperventilates)
"(Hallie) David!?"
"(David) What's wrong?"
"(Hallie) David!?"
"(David) Are you panicking for a reason, or is this just a dry run?"
"(Hallie) I felt a sudden chill! It could be something spooky!"
"(David) It could be something spooky!? You're the only person I know who gets scared on spec."

"(Hallie) I'm serious, I felt a cold, chill air blow right past me!"
"(David) Could you tell where it came from?"
"(Hallie) David, LOOK! It came from inside Rose Cottage!"
"(David) Let me see... Oh, yeah. It looks like not only did they leave the lights on, they left the fridge open in there."

"(Hallie) David, LOOK!"
"(David) I'm right here! Will you quit shouting that into my ear??"
"(Hallie) There's a model ship in there now! Isn't that the same one you have in your room?"
"(David) I don't know, that thing is the size of a marble. I guess they're the same. They both have sails. I wonder if that's a model of the actual Java Queen, or of the ship in my room?"
"(Hallie) It's got to be the real Java Queen. A model of a model would just be silly."

"(David) I think it's a model of the model. That would have a nice little recursive quality."
"(Hallie) You know, there's another possibility. What if that IS the model from your room??"
"(David) But it's too small."
"(Hallie) What if the ghosts miniaturized it and put into Rose Cottage? Just like happened to us in those dreams we had?"
"(David) Now, that's just silly. How do you shrink a ship?"
"(Hallie) The same way you walk through a wall, of course!"
"(David) You know, that's either a really dumb answer or a really smart one. I'm not sure which."

"(Hallie) I'll bet when you go to your room, the model won't be there any more."
"(David) Uh huh. Because YOU hid it to scare me, I'll bet!"
"(Hallie) Of course I didn't! But I'll tell you what we do need to take away, and that's Rose Cottage!"
"(David) Huh?"
"(Hallie) If they're planning to put us into that thing, we've got to make sure it doesn't exist! Destroy it!"
"(David) How?"
"(Hallie) I don't know. Disassemble it! Burn it! Smash it!"
"(David) Or just play with it as rough as we play with most toys."
"(Hallie) That too!"

"(David) Oh, who are we kidding? We can't destroy it. We tried that with the dolls, remember? We burned them and they just reappeared. The same thing would happen to Rose Cottage."
"(Hallie) Then we're screwed!... (Whatever "screwed" means, exactly). There's nothing left for us to do but wait until Carrie comes here to tell us our fate!"
(they each take a seat and start brooding)
"(Hallie) Have we really spent this whole episode just sitting around waiting for Carrie?"
"(David) Who cares? As long as we speak, they have to pay us just the same."

(Elsewhere, Maggie is still a drip)
"(Barnabas) Hmm, I wonder if anyone would notice if I took just ONE sip from this thing?"

(In Maggie's Room, Julia is going through Quentin's diary)
"(Barnabas) Anything?"
"(Julia) Here's something. It says something about "Cottage", and after that is a G."
"(Barnabas) Well, perhaps that refers to Rose Cottage, and the G is Gerard's initial."
"(Julia) I don't think so. After Cottage, it says "Cheese", and the G it says "List". I think this is one of Quentin's old Grocery Lists."

"(Julia) Wait a minute, this might be something."
"(Barnabas) What? His Laundry List?"
"(Julia) No, listen. Original Quentin's diary entry for October 14th, 1839, the original Quentin wrote "Tonight I do what I dread. I must go and see G at the cottage"."
"(Barnabas) Then G must be Gerard, and the Cottage must be Rose Cottage!"
"(Julia) I admit that's a likely interpretation."
"(Barnabas) It's the ONLY interpretation! This resolves everything!"
"(Julia) Yes, now all we need to know is who Gerard was, and where Rose Cottage is."
"(Barnabas) Keep reading, Julia."

"(Barnabas) If only we knew more about who Gerard was? He doesn't seem like either a servant or a friend."
"(Julia) I'll go into town and check the Real Estate records again. I still think that Rose Cottage is the most important clue."
"(Barnabas) I'm not so sure of that. The Murder sounds pretty important to me. I wonder who gets murdered?"
"(Julia) The only person we know for sure died in 1970 was David. But you know, there's another clue we're not discussing: The Night Carolyn Sang Her Song."
"(Barnabas) I've heard Carolyn sing. That one could explain The Murder too."

"(Barnabas) You should get some rest. You'll have to sit up with Maggie tomorrow."
"(Julia) I wouldn't worry about that. The vampire isn't going to summon her during the daytime, you know."
"(Barnabas) When I think somewhere in the Village, there is another coffin, and another secret room. I wonder why whoever it is would come here?"
"(Julia) I suppose Collinsport is just starting to get a reputation as a vampire friendly town... In five years they'll probably be having their own Pride marches."

"(Julia) Well, don't forget that another vampire is a danger to you too. When the Police go vampire hunting, they may find you by mistake. Recall your close call with the Sheriff in 1995."
"(Barnabas) Yes, I had to strangle the Sheriff before he killed me with silver bullets. I wonder if I ought to try to make it up to him?"
"(Julia) What do you mean "make it up to him"?"
"(Barnabas) Didn't you know? The Sheriff I killed in 1995 is the Collins paperboy today."
"(Julia) You mean that kid who's always tossing the paper on the roof or in the rosebushes?"
"(Barnabas) That's the one."
"(Julia) Well, don't worry about making it up for killing him. I'd say we're even now."

(Meanwhile at Rose Cottage, one of the dolls is having a Bad Hair Day)

"(David) Come on, let's get out of here."
"(Hallie) But I thought you were the one who wanted to stay."
"(David) That was three hours ago. Even on TV people eventually have to go to the bathroom.

"(Hallie) David, LOOK!"
"(David) Will you stop shouting that into my ear??"
"(Hallie) But the dolls are gone!"
"(David) How did that happen? We were watching the dollhouse the whole time."
"(Hallie) The spirits must have spirited them out. At least the ship is still in there."
"(David) Well, they had to hold that back so you'll have another excuse to yell in my ear when that goes."

(David and hallie start to leave the room)
"(Ghostly Voice) David. Hallie."
"(David) Did you say something?"
"(Hallie) That wasn't me."
"(David) It sounded just like you."
"(Hallie) No it didn't. My voice doesn't have an echo chamber."

"(David) It's Carrie!"
"(Ghost of Carrie) Don't go. We're ready now."
"(David) But I've got to go! I've been in here three hours!"
"(Ghost of Carrie) You must stay. Look in the Dollhouse."
"(David) All right, but if the ship is gone, I'm covering my ears."

(David and Hallie look into the dollhouse, and see living, doll-sized versions of themselves!)
"(Ghost of Carrie) Now you know what's going to happen to you. Now you know!"
"(Hallie) Actually, I'd sort of guessed it already."
"(David) Shh!"
(fade to black)

"(Bob Lloyd) So, if David has a dog, why has it never appeared onscreen?"
"(Dan Curtis) Popular demand."

Episode 1092:   Julia prepares a blood transfusion for Maggie after Barnabas finds her unconscious in the woods.
