Never mind what would you do for a Klondike Bar, what would you do for a Pawn? In this game, Steinitz lets his King be trapped in the center of an open board and have his entire position subjected to a ferocious attack, all for the sake of grabbing one lousy pawn in the opening and hoping to hold onto it until the endgame. Which he does!
