Fischer's only game with 3-time US Champion Lubomir Kavalek (then of Czechoslovakia), and a real barn-burner it is.

One of Fischer's occasional exploits with the Sicilian Poisoned Pawn variation. Kavalek sacrifices a piece, leaving himself down a piece and three pawns, but saddling Fischer with an absolutely godawful Pawn structure, and a King trapped in the center. Fischer manages to win Kavalek's Queen, but by then, the hounds have closed in on his King, and force a perpetual check. A short, sharp, extremely interesting encounter.
