Notes = : Soviet title shared. ”pl” indicates a title won after a playoff (9 playoffs were played out of 21 championships with equal firsts. Two playoffs (45th and 52nd Ch) were drawn and the title shared. The title of the 58th and last USSR-ch was awarded to Minasian on tiebreak, without a playoff. (*) Botvinnik also won a so-called “Absolute Soviet Championship” in 1941 (it was organized to select Alekhine’s challenger for the world title) but it cannot be considered a true soviet championship.
