Thanks to John S. Hilbert for providing the start and end dates.
This was the first of (to date) three perfect scores in the US Women's Championship, the other
two coming in 1944 and 1987.
Nancy Roos was born in Germany in 1905, and was a former Belgian and City of Berlin women's
champion. She would share the US title with Gresser in 1955. She is sometimes listed as
Nanny Roos.
Karff took home the Chess Review Trophy for the second time. Once more and she gets to keep it.
