As a result of this victory, Arthur Bisguier and Larry
Evans qualified for the
1955 Interzonal
in Gothenburg, Sweden. Sammy Reshevsky was also entitled to play,
but both Reshevsky and Evans declined to participate in order to play
in the US Open instead, and were not replaced.
